Luzerne County Community Events Highlight March Activities

Luzerne County is set to host a variety of community events throughout March, offering residents opportunities to engage in literacy activities, support local charities, and enjoy cultural experiences. Among the highlights is the Reading Day, organized by the Keystone State Literacy Association, scheduled for March 7, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Boscov’s community room in Wilkes-Barre. The event will celebrate Dr. Seuss and Read Across America, featuring story times, crafts, and free book giveaways for the first 50 children present, alongside appearances by the Cat in the Hat and a magic act by Cosmic Glen at 1 p.m.

Another notable event is the spring dinner dance hosted by Alhamar Caravan No. 4, which supports Special Olympics bowlers and their guests. Scheduled for March 24, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fox Hill Country Club, attendees can enjoy a buffet menu that includes stuffed chicken breast and chocolate mousse for $35.
