Cylake Secures $45M to Launch AI-Driven Cybersecurity Platform
Cylake Inc., a new player in the cybersecurity landscape, has officially launched with a significant funding round that raised $45 million. This investment aims to advance the development of its artificial intelligence-driven cybersecurity platform, specifically designed for organizations that demand stringent control over their data and security protocols.
Founded by industry veterans Nir Zuk, Wilson Xu, and Ehud (Udi) Shamir, who previously held key positions at Palo Alto Networks and SentinelOne, Cylake focuses on providing a solution that maintains data sovereignty in both on-premises and private cloud environments. The company’s unique approach features an AI-native architecture that processes security data and analytics securely within the customer’s controlled infrastructure.
Innovative Security Approach
Cylake’s platform sets itself apart from traditional security tools by avoiding reliance on cloud-hosted analytics platforms. These conventional methods often centralize telemetry outside an organization’s infrastructure, potentially conflicting with regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding data sovereignty. Instead, Cylake aggregates operational and security data from a variety of sources—including network infrastructure, endpoints, cloud workloads, and security tools—into a unified data layer.
The platform harnesses machine learning models and automated analysis workflows to evaluate system activity and identify abnormal patterns, all while ensuring that sensitive information remains within the organization’s infrastructure. By processing data locally, Cylake helps organizations maintain control over their critical datasets without needing to export logs or telemetry to external analysis services.
Targeting Sensitive Environments
Cylake’s offering is particularly well-suited for sectors where data movement and external processing are heavily regulated. This includes government agencies, critical infrastructure operators, and industries such as finance and healthcare. The platform’s ability to provide visibility across interconnected infrastructure components allows security teams to correlate events and telemetry from multiple sources, facilitating the detection of potential security incidents.
Complementary automated analysis components track activity patterns and offer contextual insights around system behavior. This enables security teams to conduct thorough investigations using data drawn from their operational environment, enhancing their overall response capabilities.
“Cybersecurity is constantly evolving, and sometimes new challenges demand completely new approaches,” said Nir Zuk, co-founder and CEO of Cylake. “Cylake is for institutions where maintaining full control over data and operations is not optional.”
The seed funding round was led by Greylock Partners, with participation from other experienced technology investors. Asheem Chandna, a Partner at Greylock Partners, emphasized the importance of Cylake’s focus on a market segment that requires full control to meet regulatory and operational realities. He stated, “The next generation of cybersecurity will be AI-native, agentic, and built on holistic data and context.”
With the launch of Cylake, the cybersecurity landscape is poised for evolution, as organizations increasingly prioritize data sovereignty and operational control in their security strategies.
