Community to Honor Lloyd Stallings Jr. at Funeral Service

Funeral services for Lloyd Stallings Jr., who passed away on January 9, 2026, will take place on January 24, 2026, at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Picayune, Mississippi. A visitation will precede the service, starting one hour prior. The Rev. Van Bolden will officiate, with interment to follow at Picayune Cemetery.

Born on March 31, 1953, in Picayune, Lloyd was the son of the late Alberta Smith Stallings and Lloyd Stallings Sr.. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, where he nurtured his faith throughout his life.

Lloyd was a dedicated student, graduating at the top of his class from George Washington Carver School. He furthered his education at Jackson State University, pursuing a degree in education, reflecting his passion for learning and teaching.

Over the years, Lloyd worked in various roles across Mississippi and Louisiana. He is particularly remembered for his time as an orderly at Slidell Memorial Hospital, where his strong work ethic and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and the community.

On January 9, 2026, Lloyd passed away at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by several loved ones, including his son, Lloyd Stallings III, and his grandson, Cais Smith.

Lloyd leaves behind his stepson, Kelty Mark; his daughter, Angela Stallings; his grandson, Torrey Scott II; and two step-grandchildren, Kelsey Mark and Kelty Mark Jr.. He is also survived by his Godchildren, Kaylin Jones and Justin Jonte Mark, as well as his confidant, Gloria Coleman, and numerous relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
