U.S. Navy Veteran Charles C. Stocker Passes Away at 87

Charles C. Stocker, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and former Budget & Operations Director at Bowling Green State University, passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 87. Stocker served his country with dedication and later contributed to the academic community before retiring in 2002.

Throughout his career, Stocker was known for his commitment to excellence in financial management and operations at the university’s Firelands Campus. His professional legacy is remembered by colleagues and friends who admired his work ethic and leadership.

Remembering a Dedicated Family Man

Stocker is survived by his wife, Janet M. Stocker (née Klingshirn), with whom he shared 23 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Clorinda Stocker (née Ali), who instilled in him the values of service and community.

The family will hold a visitation for friends on January 20, 2026, from 16:00 to 18:00 at the MISENCIK FUNERAL HOME, located at 36363 Detroit Road in Avon, Ohio. Following the visitation, interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to God Cares Ministry, 515 Moore Road, Avon Lake, OH 44012. This gesture honors Stocker’s spirit of generosity and community service, which he demonstrated throughout his life.
