Union County Courthouse Invites Bids for $150K Tech Overhaul
Union County has announced a significant opportunity for technology contractors, inviting bids for a comprehensive network overhaul at the Union County Courthouse in Marysville, Ohio. The project, which aims to modernize the courthouse’s IT infrastructure, has a base bid of $150,000 and includes the replacement of outdated network cabling and components.
The bid notice, published on the Union County website, outlines the requirements for interested parties. Bidders are expected to submit sealed proposals for a general contract that encompasses not only the removal of existing cabling but also the installation of new network infrastructure. To accommodate the courthouse’s operations, work may be scheduled after hours, starting at 16:30 on weekdays and possibly extending to Saturdays, depending on the County’s discretion.
Project Details and Requirements
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will take place on October 21 at the courthouse, located at 215 West Fifth Street. This meeting provides an opportunity for contractors to gain insight into the project’s specifics, which include demolition and refinishing tasks as part of the cabling work. The plans for this upgrade have been prepared by Mark Lecky Architects LLC and are designed to enhance the courthouse’s operational efficiency.
Contractors must ensure compliance with Prevailing Wage laws, which guarantees fair wages for workers involved in the project. Bids will be accepted until 10:00 A.M. on November 5, when they will be opened in the Commissioners’ Chambers. Each submission must include a Bid Guaranty and a Contract Bond amounting to 10% of the bid value.
The Union County Commissioners have stated their intention to select “the lowest and best bidder,” emphasizing the importance of both cost-effectiveness and quality in their decision-making process. This initiative represents a vital step in updating the courthouse’s technological capabilities, ensuring it is equipped to handle the demands of modern justice.
Contractors interested in participating in this bid can find full details and access bidding documents online. This project not only reflects Union County’s commitment to technological advancement but also highlights the importance of maintaining infrastructure that supports the legal system. As the bidding process unfolds, the courthouse is poised to embrace a new era of digital efficiency.
