Washington State University Secures Six Top 25 Rankings in Online Education
Washington State University (WSU) has achieved significant recognition in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Programs rankings, landing six programs within the top 25 nationwide. This acknowledgment reflects WSU’s commitment to providing flexible, high-quality education tailored for working professionals and military-affiliated learners.
In the latest rankings, WSU Global Campus secured the **11th** position for its undergraduate degrees in the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs category. The online undergraduate business program, offered through the **Carson College of Business**, ranked **15th**, while the online MBA program achieved **33rd** place in the Best Online MBA Programs. Additionally, online graduate engineering programs from the **Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture** ranked **38th** in the Best Online Master’s in Engineering Programs.
Dave Cillay, chancellor of WSU Global Campus, expressed his pride in the rankings, stating, “These results reflect our long-standing commitment to serving students who need flexibility without compromising academic rigor.” He emphasized that this includes a diverse range of students, from first-year learners to seasoned professionals and military-affiliated individuals.
In addition to its overall rankings, WSU has also been recognized for its support for veterans. U.S. News & World Report evaluates programs specifically for veterans, highlighting institutions that assist students transitioning from military service. WSU’s online bachelor’s programs ranked **8th** nationally in Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans, while the online MBA ranked **25th** and online graduate engineering programs ranked **24th** in their respective categories.
The presence of veteran and military-affiliated students at WSU Global Campus is growing, making up nearly **10%** of the student body. This demographic’s increasing enrollment reflects a demand for programs that align with their experiences and career aspirations. Jadon Hawkins, veterans coordinator at WSU Global Campus, noted, “Our veteran students bring leadership, discipline, and real-world experience into every classroom.” He added that WSU’s role is to help these students translate their experiences into academic progress.
WSU Global Campus offers a comprehensive range of **22 undergraduate** and **13 graduate** degrees across various disciplines, alongside numerous minors and certificates designed to meet workforce and professional needs. The online MBA program, in particular, stands out as one of WSU’s most respected graduate offerings, catering to students from diverse industries and career stages.
Debbie Compeau, dean of the Carson College of Business, remarked on the consistent recognition, stating, “Our online MBA offers a high-quality, flexible business education that prepares students to advance professionally while making an immediate impact in their organizations.”
In the engineering domain, WSU provides fully online master’s programs, including engineering and technology management, electrical power engineering, and software engineering. Partha Pande, dean of the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture, highlighted the program’s longevity, stating, “WSU’s Engineering and Technology Management program has been a leader in engineering management education for more than 40 years.”
