Washington State University Appoints Kerri Davidson as Chief Administrative Officer

Washington State University (WSU) has established a new administrative position aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of its operations. On March 14, 2024, WSU announced that Kerri Davidson has been appointed as the chief administrative officer and vice president of institutional affairs. In this role, Davidson will act as a senior adviser to WSU President Elizabeth Cantwell.

Davidson’s responsibilities will encompass a range of strategic initiatives. She will lead system-wide and presidential projects, focusing on fostering collaboration across different campuses to promote consistency and efficiency. Additionally, her role will involve advancing innovation-driven enterprise development and ensuring effective communication within leadership teams. A primary goal of her appointment is to optimize administrative operations for the Office of the President.

Before joining WSU, Kerri Davidson served as the vice president and chief of staff at Utah State University. She brings over 13 years of executive experience from her tenure at Arizona State University, where she held various leadership roles. Notably, Elizabeth Cantwell was previously the president of USU before taking on her current position at WSU earlier this year.

The creation of this new role reflects WSU’s commitment to enhancing its operational framework and supporting its educational mission. Davidson’s extensive background in higher education administration positions her well to contribute to the university’s goals and initiatives.
