The Montrose Memorial Library is set to host a variety of engaging activities throughout January 2026. From exercise classes to card games, there is something for everyone looking to participate and connect with the community.

Upcoming Events at Montrose Memorial Library

The month kicks off with the library closed on January 1. Following this, regular programming resumes with a series of low-impact exercise classes designed for all fitness levels. These classes will take place every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 10 a.m., starting on January 5. Participants can expect a welcoming environment that accommodates different abilities, with an emphasis on chair workouts.

In addition to exercise, the library will offer social opportunities through card games. On January 7 and January 14, at 1 p.m., attendees can enjoy playing Euchre and a variant of Canasta known as Samba. Experienced players are willing to teach newcomers, making it an excellent chance to learn and engage with others.

Another exciting event is the Senior Crafternoon scheduled for January 8 at 2 p.m.. Participants interested in this creative activity must call the library at 319-463-5532 to reserve a spot. This crafting session provides an opportunity for seniors to explore their artistic side while socializing with peers.

The card games will continue on January 21 and January 28, also at 1 p.m., encouraging community members to join in the fun and camaraderie.

Exercise classes will maintain their schedule every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the month, concluding with a final session on January 29. These classes are designed to promote physical health and well-being among participants, providing a supportive atmosphere for all.

With a full calendar of activities, the Montrose Memorial Library invites everyone in the community to take advantage of these offerings. Whether looking to improve fitness, learn new games, or engage in creative pursuits, January is an excellent time to visit the library and connect with fellow residents.
