A pair of devoted New England Patriots superfans, Lesley Wilkins and Pam Vetrano, have become a familiar sight at games, renowned for their matching custom outfits. Their passion for the team and creativity in attire have turned them into local celebrities among fellow fans.

Wilkins has held season tickets to the Patriots for over a decade, and her friendship with Vetrano blossomed when they discovered their mutual love for the team while working together. “One day she is like, ‘Hey, do you want to go to a Patriots game?’ I am like, ‘Oh absolutely,'” Vetrano recalled. Their first game marked the beginning of a tradition that has grown into a vibrant collection of Patriots-themed clothing.

Over the years, the pair has crafted an impressive wardrobe, accumulating approximately 30 jackets, along with shirts, dresses, and sparkling shoes. Each season, they set aside time to create new pieces, ensuring their outfits reflect both their style and team spirit. “We are very superstitious, but we always wear the same thing,” Wilkins stated.

Their commitment to matching attire is unwavering. “Every game we have to match, and we are grown adults, and we match from head to toe,” Vetrano added. Prior to each game, the duo convenes to decide on their jewelry and accessories, which includes around 30 pairs of earrings. This meticulous preparation is part of what makes their game day experience so special.

While their creations are not for sale, the fans occasionally share their spirit with others. During their travels to watch the Patriots play in London and Germany, they donated some of their gear. “We gave away some of our gear when we were there because people there don’t have the same ability to buy the same things that we do here,” Wilkins explained.

With the Super Bowl on the horizon, Vetrano is contemplating her travel plans, as she is scheduled to be in Japan during the big game. “I will be in Japan, but I actually contemplated canceling Japan if they do make it to the Super Bowl,” she remarked, indicating the lengths to which she and Wilkins go to support their team.

The enthusiasm and creativity of Wilkins and Vetrano highlight the fervent culture surrounding sports fandom, where personal expression and community engagement intertwine. Their story serves as an inspiring reminder of how passion for a team can lead to lasting friendships and memorable experiences.
