Lorain County Resource Fair Connects Families with Essential Services
Families in Lorain County will have the opportunity to access vital resources at the upcoming **Lorain County Resource Fair**, scheduled for **March 18, 2024**, from **18:00 to 20:00** at **Lorain County Community College**, Ewing Field House, located at **1005 Abbe Road North, Elyria**. This event is designed for residents up to **22 years** old who are facing various challenges, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and developmental delays.
The resource fair is one of the largest events of its kind in Northeast Ohio, featuring over **70 providers** from county agencies, community organizations, and specialist services. Families will have the chance to connect directly with professionals who can assist with their children’s needs.
Attendees can expect to find information and support on a variety of issues, including:
- Mental health concerns: Access to providers who address anxiety, depression, and behavioral problems.
- Academic issues: Resources such as tutors, academic programs, and educational advocates for students facing difficulties.
- Disabilities and developmental delays: Information on occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as adapted camps and recreational programs.
In addition to the resources available, the first **100 families** who visit the **Connecting for Kids** table will receive a complimentary stuffed animal provided by **Wild Republic**, along with a disability awareness pin and a bookmark. Furthermore, families who pre-register for the event will be entered into a drawing to win a **$100 Amazon gift card**.
For those with limited time, a grab-and-go option will be available. Families can drive up to the designated area in front of the college during fair hours to collect a goody bag filled with essential resources.
As stated in the news release, “Resource fairs offer a one-stop shop,” allowing families to avoid the lengthy process of searching online or making numerous phone calls. Attendees can engage in discussions about insurance, services, and program options directly with the providers.
The **Lorain County Resource Fair** is organized in partnership with **Leadership Lorain County** and the **Rotary Club of North Ridgeville**. Connecting for Kids is also hosting another resource fair on **March 5, 2024**, at the **Don Umerley Civic Center**, located at **21016 Hilliard Blvd., Rocky River**.
