Tanium Unveils AI-Driven Enhancements for Endpoint Management
Tanium Inc., a prominent cybersecurity software provider, has announced significant advancements in artificial intelligence and endpoint management. The enhancements aim to facilitate autonomous operations, enabling IT and security leaders to innovate more effectively while bolstering resilience and achieving business objectives. These announcements were made during the company’s 10th annual Converge conference, held on March 15, 2024.
Among the key features introduced is Tanium Ask, part of the company’s Agentic AI offering. This tool integrates AI-driven workflows directly into the Tanium platform, improving operational efficiency across various processes. With capabilities ranging from data discovery and software management to dashboard summarization, administrators can troubleshoot and resolve issues seamlessly within a single interface.
Another noteworthy addition is the Tanium AI Agent for ServiceNow, which embeds Tanium’s AI capabilities into ServiceNow Inc.’s Now Assist experience. This integration allows for real-time endpoint intelligence retrieval when an incident is logged, providing critical information such as user activity and device status. As a result, administrators can execute necessary actions promptly, such as rebooting devices or uninstalling software, significantly reducing the time spent on investigations.
Expanded Endpoint Management Features
Tanium also expanded its endpoint management features with several new offerings. The Tanium Endpoint Management for Operational Technology extends the company’s management capabilities into operational technology environments, providing real-time visibility into traditionally isolated assets. This feature enhances oversight across both IT and industrial domains, integrating devices like human-machine interfaces and programmable logic controllers.
Additionally, the Tanium Endpoint Management for Mobile was introduced, initially supporting Macs, iPhones, and iPads. This feature allows for consistent visibility and configuration enforcement across mobile endpoints within the Tanium platform. Furthermore, the Tanium Connector for Microsoft Intune integrates telemetry from Microsoft Intune-managed devices into Tanium, offering unified visibility and reporting across mobile and IT assets.
The announcements also included enhancements to security operations through the introduction of Tanium Jump Gate. This feature helps organizations enforce zero-trust principles while providing real-time oversight with just-in-time access to sensitive resources. Another addition, Tanium HuntIQ, connects experienced Tanium experts directly with customer environments to optimize security operations and proactively identify threats.
“Tanium continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible by leveraging AI and real-time endpoint intelligence,” stated Matt Quinn, Chief Technology Officer of Tanium. “Unveiling these innovations at our Converge conference is especially meaningful – it’s where our community comes together to shape the future of autonomous IT.”
As cybersecurity threats evolve, these new tools and enhancements reflect Tanium’s commitment to empowering organizations to transition from reactive to autonomous operations, ensuring they remain resilient in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
