Samsung Expands One UI 8 Update to Galaxy A53, A33, and XCover 7 Pro
Samsung has commenced the rollout of its One UI 8 update for several Galaxy models, including the Galaxy A53, Galaxy A33, and Galaxy XCover 7 Pro. This update, which enhances user experience through stability improvements and various behind-the-scenes enhancements, is currently being deployed in South Korea, with plans for a broader release in the coming weeks.
The One UI 8 update introduces firmware version GYI2 for the Galaxy A53 and version GYI3 for the Galaxy A33. The latest addition to the XCover series, the XCover 7 Pro, is receiving firmware version BYI6. Users can anticipate the update to be automatically installed on their devices. If it has not yet appeared, they can manually check by navigating to System Settings, followed by Software Update, and selecting Download and Install.
Key Features of One UI 8
This latest version of One UI refines several of Samsung’s core applications. Enhancements to the Calendar and My Files apps are included, alongside improvements to the DeX feature, which now benefits from Android 16’s Desktop Mode. This provides users with an updated interface and additional functionalities.
Moreover, the Galaxy AI Drawing Assist has expanded its offerings by introducing five new artistic styles: Insta Toon, Art Nouveau, Pop Art, Soft Illustration, and Webtoon. The Samsung Browser has also received a redesign, featuring an updated menu and tab bar for improved navigation.
The Gallery app showcases a more polished menu and adds a unique Audio Eraser button, allowing users to eliminate unwanted background noises while viewing videos. Within the Gallery, a new Private Album feature is available for securely storing personal memories. Additionally, the ‘Now Bar’ offers real-time updates on stock prices, while the Weather app has been enhanced with more comprehensive 3D animations. The Reminder app has received new categories to facilitate a more organized user experience.
As Samsung continues its commitment to improving user satisfaction, the One UI 8 update exemplifies the company’s focus on enhancing functionality and user engagement across its device lineup.
