Lucinda Brand delivered an outstanding performance at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup in Koksijde on March 10, 2024, achieving her eighth consecutive victory. The seasoned athlete, representing the Baloise-Glowi Lions, took the lead during the opening lap, showcasing her exceptional strength and strategy as she distanced herself from the competition early in the race.

From the second lap onward, Brand executed a long solo move across the challenging sandy terrain of Koksijde, effectively neutralizing any threats posed by her rivals. Her teammate, Shirin van Anrooij, managed to maintain pace for a considerable period and ultimately secured second place, crossing the finish line 36 seconds behind Brand.

In a thrilling contest for third place, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado of Fenix-Deceuninck sprinted to clinch the final podium position. Brand’s triumph marked her 80th professional cyclocross win and her 12th victory out of 14 races this season. Notably, this win at Koksijde was significant for Brand, as it was her first victory at this venue after finishing second three times in previous years.
