The Futureland summit is set to take place on November 20, 2023, at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Cleveland, Ohio. This one-day immersive event will explore the profound impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on culture and community, dedicating twelve hours to discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities.

Exploring AI’s Cultural Influence

According to Nikki B, Project Coordinator for Futureland, the summit aims to unite diverse perspectives on the rapidly evolving landscape of AI. “This is where resources of technology, creativity, and innovation come together,” she stated. The event will feature a lineup of influential speakers, including Winton Steward from Google, Mayor Justin Bibb of Cleveland, and Freddy Collier from the Greater Cleveland Partnership.

Nikki B emphasized the extensive reach of AI, noting, “AI is so large, and there are so many industries that it touches. We can utilize that to improve our businesses and industries.” The discussions will highlight how AI can shape various sectors and foster innovation within local communities.

Interactive Experiences and Networking

Following the panel discussions, participants will engage in interactive workshops and hands-on technology experiences, allowing them to explore AI technologies more deeply. Matthew Dennis, representing MOCA Cleveland, shared that the museum’s galleries will be open during the latter part of the day, offering attendees a chance to appreciate art alongside their AI learning experience.

Nikki B believes that the connections made at Futureland could have a lasting impact: “You never know who you are going to connect with that is going to change your life forever.” Similarly, Dennis remarked on the importance of understanding AI’s influence within the local context, stating, “To see who and how people are implementing it in your community in Cleveland is super important.”

The Futureland summit will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., promising a full day of learning, networking, and exploration into the future of AI’s role in society.
