Brush Art Gallery Showcases Local Talent in Annual Exhibition
The Brush Art Gallery & Studios, along with the New England Sculptors Association, is hosting its Annual Members Exhibition, which runs until December 24, 2023. This year’s exhibition features an open call for submissions, encouraging artists to showcase their work without a specific theme. The focus on smaller artworks aims to provide unique gift options for the holiday season, with purchases available for collection starting December 22, 2023.
Members of the gallery can take advantage of a 10% discount on their purchases, making it an appealing opportunity for art enthusiasts and gift-givers alike. Participating artists include notable names such as Louise Abbott, Elisa Adams, and Maureen Baker, among many others. The diverse roster showcases the vibrant artistic community in the region.
Two distinguished jurors are overseeing the selection process. Michael Conway, an art collector and insurance agency owner, also serves on the board of the Whistler House Museum of Art and the Merrimack Repertory Theatre. He is actively involved in local community initiatives, including the Lowell Rotary Club. Joining him is Carolyn Walsh, an art collector and secretary of UMass Lowell’s lifelong learning program. Walsh has previously served on the board of The Brush Art Gallery & Studios and is committed to supporting various local nonprofits.
The exhibition will culminate in a reception scheduled for December 13, 2023, from 14:00 to 16:00. Interested attendees can find more details about the event on the gallery’s official website at www.thebrush.org.
In addition to the Annual Members Exhibition, the Brush Art Gallery is also promoting the upcoming event titled “Family Trees: A Celebration of Children’s Literature,” which has been a beloved holiday tradition for 30 years. This event will be open to the public from November 22, 2023, to January 4, 2024. More information can be found at https://concordmuseum.org/event/30th-annual-family-trees/.
In a related note, the Worcester Art Museum is gearing up for a busy weekend filled with demonstrations, tours, and programs. Visitors can learn about the history of armored soldiers on Saturday and participate in a guided gallery tour on Sunday. For a complete list of events, check https://www.worcesterart.org/events/.
This Annual Members Exhibition not only highlights the exceptional talent within the local artistic community but also provides a platform for art lovers to engage with and support their favorite artists during the holiday season.
