Algona High School Students Host Annual Blood Drive on February 13
The Algona High School chapter of the National Honor Society is set to organize its annual blood drive on February 13. This event will take place in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Students are encouraged to participate, as the initiative aims to support the local community by contributing much-needed blood donations.
Students Leading the Charge
Organized by dedicated members of the National Honor Society, this year’s blood drive involves students such as Summer Thompson, Aylee Herke, Jordan Jansen, Tate Carter, Macy Knapp, Gavin Weber, Elijah Garrett, and Brooklyn Adams. Their leadership and commitment highlight the importance of community service and the positive impact that young individuals can have.
Participating in the blood drive not only provides a critical resource for hospitals but also fosters a sense of community among students and local residents. Each donation can save multiple lives, making this initiative particularly vital.
Encouraging Participation
The organizers emphasize that anyone eligible to donate is welcome to participate. Interested individuals are encouraged to arrive early, as appointments may fill quickly. The support of the community is crucial for the success of this event, and every contribution counts.
As the blood drive approaches, the Algona High School National Honor Society is spreading awareness through various channels, including social media and local announcements. Their goal is to ensure that the event is well-attended and that they can collect as many donations as possible.
For students, this event is not only a chance to give back but also an opportunity to fulfill community service requirements that are essential for National Honor Society membership. The experience helps to instill values of altruism and civic responsibility in young people.
Support for the blood drive reflects the community’s commitment to helping those in need. It highlights the collaborative spirit that brings people together for a common cause. The Algona High School National Honor Society looks forward to another successful event and hopes to exceed last year’s donation numbers.
For anyone interested in participating, please mark your calendars for February 13 and join the effort to make a difference in the lives of others.
