Staff Member Raises $1,000 for Kingswood Home Through T-Shirt Fundraiser
A recent T-shirt fundraiser organized by the T. Phillip Carlyle Foundation generated significant support for breast cancer research, culminating in a donation of $1,000 to Kingswood Home for Children. The initiative, which took place in October 2023, featured a friendly competition among staff to determine who could sell the most T-shirts.
In an engaging twist, staff member Josie Seal emerged victorious in the competition. As part of her win, she had the opportunity to choose a charity to receive the proceeds from her sales. Seal decided to support Kingswood Home, an organization dedicated to providing care and support for children in need.
On Tuesday afternoon, Seal visited Kingswood Home to present the check to Rev. David Williams, the Executive Director. The event highlighted not only the success of the fundraiser but also the community spirit and commitment to supporting children’s welfare.
The T-shirt fundraiser reflects the ongoing efforts by the T. Phillip Carlyle Foundation to raise awareness and funds for important causes. By engaging its staff in a competitive yet fun manner, the foundation effectively mobilized resources for breast cancer research while also benefiting a local charity.
The donation to Kingswood Home is expected to enhance the services provided to the children residing there, helping to create a more supportive environment. As organizations like Kingswood continue to rely on community support, initiatives like this fundraiser play a crucial role in ensuring they can meet the needs of those they serve.
Such fundraising efforts not only contribute financially but also foster a sense of community and collaboration among participants. By championing causes that resonate with employees, organizations can cultivate a culture of giving back and making a positive impact in society.
