New Oncologists Join Northern Light Cancer Care in Brewer

Two experienced oncologists have recently joined Northern Light Cancer Care in Brewer, enhancing patient care for adults facing cancer and blood disorders. Dr. Arslan Babar and Dr. Muhammad Niazi bring a wealth of expertise and specialized skills to the team, marking a significant step in the institution’s commitment to comprehensive oncology services.

Dr. Babar, who has a particular interest in thoracic, head and neck, and skin cancers, earned his medical degree from Shifa College of Medicine in Pakistan. His extensive training includes a fellowship in hematology and oncology at St. Louis University Hospital, along with an Internal Medicine residency and a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Care at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. His diverse background positions him well to address complex cancer cases.

Meanwhile, Dr. Niazi focuses on gastrointestinal cancers and lung cancer, demonstrating a strong commitment to managing a wide range of blood disorders. He received his medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan, and completed his Internal Medicine residency and fellowships in hematology and medical oncology at the Zucker School of Medicine at Northwell Health/Staten Island University Hospital in New York. His expertise includes treating both benign conditions such as anemia and malignant hematological disorders, including leukemia and lymphoma.

The addition of these two specialists aims to strengthen the services provided at the Lafayette Family Cancer Institute. The team is eager to welcome referrals for oncology and hematology, emphasizing their dedication to caring for patients with cancer and various blood conditions.
