Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Brain Aneurysm Diagnosis

In the premiere of Season 7 of “The Kardashians,” airing on October 23, 2023, Kim Kardashian disclosed that she developed a “little aneurysm” in her brain. An aneurysm, defined by the Mayo Clinic as “a bulge or ballooning in the wall of a blood vessel,” can occur in various parts of the body and poses serious health risks, including the potential for internal bleeding and death if ruptured.
During the episode, Kardashian shared her experience of undergoing an MRI, which led to the diagnosis. “There’s like a little aneurysm,” she stated, prompting a shocked reaction from her sister Kourtney Kardashian Barker. Kardashian reflected on the stress connected to her life circumstances, saying, “They’re like, ‘It’s just stress.’ And I’m like, people think that I have the luxury of walking away.”
As the episode progressed, Kardashian described her health struggles in more detail. A video segment depicted her receiving an MRI in what appeared to be a clinical setting. She conveyed her emotional turmoil to her mother and sister Khloé Kardashian over the phone, stating, “This week has been the hardest week of my life.” She expressed relief that the challenging period was over.
Kardashian also linked her health issues to her ongoing struggles with psoriasis, a skin condition characterized by thick, scaly patches. She attributed her recent flare-up to stress from her relationship with her ex-husband, Kanye West, who now goes by the name Ye. Although she refrained from discussing specific incidents, she noted that her last flare-up coincided with her divorce from Ye.
When prompted about her feelings regarding Ye’s behavior, Kardashian voiced concern for their four children. “Everyone around can handle it, but like, protect my babies because they’re going to know things, they’re going to grow up, they’re going to see,” she stated. Her primary focus remains on ensuring their well-being during tumultuous times.
Kardashian compared her previous relationship dynamics to Stockholm Syndrome, where a person develops loyalty to an abuser. Yet, she expressed that her perspective is evolving. “This was the first time I didn’t feel that responsibility personally that I should have stuck it out or I could have helped,” she explained, indicating a shift in her mindset.
When asked if she anticipated an apology from Ye, Kardashian was firm in her response. “No. I’m not looking for it,” she asserted, adding, “I don’t care.” Her candid revelations resonate with many as she navigates the complexities of personal health and familial relationships while remaining in the public eye.
