Texas A&M University Launches Buc-ee’s Snack Outlets on Campus

Texas A&M University has become the first institution in the United States to partner with Buc-ee’s, allowing students and faculty to purchase over 45 of the brand’s popular snacks and merchandise directly on campus. This collaboration, which begins on August 20, 2023, introduces Buc-ee’s favorites such as Beaver Nuggets and signature beef jerky at three locations: Aggie Express Commons, Aggie Express Hullabaloo, and Creekside Market.
The initiative aims to enhance campus life by providing convenient access to beloved Texas snacks. With this partnership, Texas A&M stands out as the only university to offer Buc-ee’s products outside the brand’s renowned travel centers. The move is expected to be well-received by the university community, including students, staff, and visitors.
Arch “Beaver” Aplin III, the founder and CEO of Buc-ee’s, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. “As an Aggie, it’s incredibly special to bring Buc-ee’s to the heart of the campus,” he stated. Aplin, a member of the Texas A&M Class of 1980, is eager to share a taste of Buc-ee’s with the Aggie Family daily.
Enhancing Campus Experience
This collaboration is part of Aggie Dining‘s ongoing mission to introduce innovative and popular brands to students. By partnering with a brand as iconic as Buc-ee’s, the university aims to improve the overall dining experience on campus. Aggie Dining operates across Texas A&M’s main campus, managing three dining halls and over 50 additional outlets.
Texas A&M University has recently gained recognition for its innovative approach to education. It was named one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2025 by Fast Company Magazine, the only university to be included in this list. The institution has also received accolades from The Wall Street Journal, which ranked it as the best university in Texas and No. 1 in the Southeastern Conference.
Furthermore, according to The Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity, Texas A&M boasts the highest return on investment for bachelor’s degrees among public universities in the state. The university is also recognized as the most visible in Texas and ranks No. 2 among all U.S. public universities in the latest Global University Visibility rankings compiled by American Caldwell.
A Commitment to Quality
Aggie Dining is operated by Chartwells Higher Education, a division of Compass Group, which is the world’s largest food service company. The dining service is dedicated to providing a diverse range of food options that cater to the preferences of the student body.
With this new partnership, Texas A&M University not only enhances its campus dining experience but also celebrates a piece of Texas culture. The availability of Buc-ee’s products is a testament to the university’s commitment to providing quality experiences for its community, blending tradition with modern convenience.
