The St. Joseph School District in Missouri has canceled in-person classes for Monday, March 4, 2024, due to inclement weather conditions. The district will implement an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) day, allowing students to engage in remote learning. This decision affects all elementary, middle, and high schools within the district, as well as the Hillyard Technical Center, Webster, Keatley’s Adult Education classes, and the Early Learning Centers.

According to district officials, this marks the second AMI day utilized this school year, with four remaining for the remainder of the academic year. During these AMI days, all district employees will receive compensation, as it will be considered a workday for all staff members.

While classes will be conducted remotely, some after-school activities may still proceed as scheduled. Parents and guardians are advised to check with their student’s activity sponsor or coach for confirmation regarding specific events.

The shift to remote learning underscores the district’s commitment to ensuring student safety while maintaining educational continuity during severe weather events. Stakeholders are encouraged to stay informed about further developments as the situation evolves.
