Veeam and HPE Strengthen Partnership to Enhance Data Resilience
Veeam and HPE have expanded their strategic partnership to streamline hybrid cloud operations and enhance data resilience across enterprises. This collaboration, building on their initial agreement earlier in 2023, aims to provide integrated solutions that enable organizations to better protect, recover, and utilize their data.
The enhanced alliance includes several key developments. A notable addition is a new Veeam native integration plugin for HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, which offers hypervisor-based image-level backup for virtual machines running on the HPE platform. This feature is currently in beta, with general availability expected in early 2026. The integration is designed to provide robust protection for hybrid workloads.
John Jester, Chief Revenue Officer at Veeam, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “Trust, resilience, and availability are the new currency of business. Our strengthened partnership with HPE gives customers the agility and confidence to protect, recover, and leverage their data, wherever it resides.”
New Integrations and Features
The partnership also introduces expanded integration between HPE products and the Veeam Data Platform. This allows businesses to deploy the HPE Private Cloud Business Edition alongside Veeam as a unified solution for data protection. The collaboration aims to eliminate fragmented approaches to data management, enhancing data portability and resilience between VMware and VM Essentials.
By utilizing the latest version of HPE StoreOnce Catalyst, Veeam’s Data Platform can achieve up to 60:1 data reduction. This improvement helps lower incremental backup limits while boosting restore speeds, ultimately reducing the total cost of ownership for customers.
Veeam has also announced support for NVMe technology in HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000, featuring new snapshot integrations for faster backups and near-instant recovery for critical workloads. Furthermore, new reference architectures aimed at delivering end-to-end immutability across the Alletra portfolio are anticipated to be released soon.
Joint Services and Future Directions
In addition to product enhancements, Veeam and HPE are launching two joint services: a Data Resilience and Security Posture workshop and a Disaster Recovery Capability Maturity Analysis. These initiatives leverage Veeam’s Data Resiliency Maturity Model (DRMM) to assist organizations in evaluating and fortifying their cyber resilience strategies.
Patrick Osborne, Senior Vice President of Hybrid Cloud Technology Acceleration at HPE, remarked, “Today’s announcement demonstrates the continuous, deep alignment between HPE and Veeam in removing friction and risk from hybrid cloud and modern application environments. Together, we’re delivering unmatched resiliency, operational simplicity, and innovation for our customers.”
This partnership marks a significant advancement in the capabilities offered by both companies, as they work to address the growing complexity of data management in hybrid cloud environments. As organizations increasingly rely on data-driven decision-making, the ability to effectively protect and recover data has never been more vital.
