Apple Prepares for Major MacBook Pro and Air Upgrades in 2026

Recent reports indicate that Apple is planning significant updates to its MacBook lineup, although a release is not imminent. According to noted leaker Mark Gurman in his “Power On” newsletter for Bloomberg, new models of the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Studio are expected in early 2026. This timeline suggests that customers may need to wait longer than anticipated for these upgrades.

Currently, the M5 chip has only been integrated into the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro. Gurman suggests that Apple aims to expand the M5 generation across its entire Mac ecosystem with a comprehensive launch early next year.
