New Science-Backed Gym to Open in West University Place
A new gym emphasizing science-backed programming and technology is set to open in West University Place, Texas, on April 20, 2024. Body Fit Training (BFT) will launch at 2720 Bissonnet St., providing a unique fitness experience designed to cater to individuals at all levels of strength and health.
Co-owner Tom Waguespack highlighted several key elements that distinguish BFT from traditional gyms. “We focus on three main approaches: coaching, programming, and technology,” he explained. Classes will be led by certified trainers who assist members with form and technique to promote safe and effective workouts.
Innovative Approach to Fitness
The programming at BFT is structured around scientifically-backed methods, organized into 10-week blocks aimed at facilitating measurable progress. This systematic approach is designed to enhance the fitness journey of each member, regardless of their starting point.
Moreover, BFT integrates heart rate technology to monitor and optimize performance. “We focus on what the heart rate should be according to the current workout,” Waguespack shared, emphasizing the importance of tailored workouts for each individual.
Waguespack, who co-owns the gym with Angelica Ortiz, is committed to fostering a strong community atmosphere. “What we’re looking to create is an experience for our members, but also to be part of a community,” he stated. This inclusive environment is intended to encourage both beginners and experienced athletes to work side by side, enhancing motivation and camaraderie.
Membership Promotions and Community Focus
BFT is currently offering a promotion that provides a 25% discount on memberships until the official opening. Waguespack noted that the gym aims to deliver tangible results for its members. “Our programs are designed to continuously improve our members’ lives,” he said, adding that the goal is for members to look forward to their visits, benefiting from both the community vibe and their fitness advancements.
As the opening date approaches, excitement is building within the West University Place community. With its focus on science, technology, and community engagement, Body Fit Training is poised to make a significant impact on the local fitness landscape.
