Michael Anthony Ortega Remembered for His Loving Spirit

Michael Anthony Ortega passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2026, surrounded by his daughters. Born on March 2, 1956, he was a lifelong resident of the Harbor Area, where he became a beloved figure within his community.

Ortega is survived by his daughters, Charmaine Morales (Armando) and Helani Ortega Godinez (Danny), along with his son, Michael Ortega. He leaves a substantial legacy, including 15 grandchildren: Valerie (Jason), Veronica (Michael), Victoria (Vance), AJ, Leah, Dominique, Natalie (Milton), Maili, Solomon (Latavia), Melanie (Christopher), Mikey Jr., Lauren, Noah, DJ, and Leinani. Additionally, he is remembered by 13 great-grandchildren: Joseph, Justin, Preston, Ruby, Santino, Samuel, Helani-Eileen, Jason, Charity-Reign, Jack, Jireh, Alina, and Shila.

A Lifelong Commitment to Family and Community

Alongside his immediate family, Ortega is survived by his siblings, Diane (David), Andie (Jesse), Tricia (Donna), Gabe, and Chris, as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Trinidad “Trino” Ortega and Dolores “Lola” Ortega, and his sister, Kathy.
