Walton Arts Center Teams Up with Ranger’s Pantry to Feed Families
The Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, has announced a partnership with the Ranger’s Pantry Pet Food Bank to assist families facing food insecurity amid the ongoing government shutdown. With many households dependent on government support programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the collaboration aims to provide essential food supplies for both families and their pets.
Support for Struggling Households
As the government shutdown extends into its second month, numerous families are finding it increasingly difficult to meet their basic needs. The Ranger’s Pantry Pet Food Bank, a project initiated by Fayetteville’s Department of Housing and Community Services, plays a vital role in maintaining the bond between pets and their owners during these challenging times. By offering pet food, the initiative seeks to alleviate some financial pressure on households in distress.
Residents can contribute to this effort by donating sealed pet food at designated drop-off locations throughout Fayetteville. The drop-off points include the Experience Fayetteville Visitors Center, located at 21 South Block Avenue, which is open weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:00. Another location is Dad Suggests Books at 2526 East Mission Boulevard, open weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00 and Sundays from 10:00 to 16:00, though it remains closed on Thursdays.
Incentives for Donors
To encourage community participation, donors will receive a 35% discount on select tickets for upcoming performances of Dog Man: The Musical at the Walton Arts Center. This initiative not only supports families in need but also fosters a sense of community involvement and engagement with the arts.
For more details about the donation process and the upcoming performances, interested individuals can visit the Walton Arts Center’s official website. This partnership exemplifies a proactive approach to addressing food insecurity and highlights the importance of community support during difficult times.
