Top Photos from 2025 Picturing Rising Tides Campaign Announced
The results are in for the 2025 “Picturing Rising Tides” photo campaign, an initiative by the New Hampshire Coastal Adaptation Workgroup (CAW) aimed at highlighting the effects of flooding and high tides on New Hampshire’s coastline. This year, a total of 20 participants submitted 53 photographs representing 10 communities within the state’s coastal watershed, capturing various aspects of coastal flooding.
A remarkable engagement accompanied the campaign, with 156 members of the public casting 654 votes to select the most impactful images. The response underscores the community’s commitment to raising awareness about climate change and its local consequences.
The top 10 photographs, chosen based on public votes, will be printed and displayed at local events, libraries, and community spaces. The initiative is supported by sponsors including the Piscataqua Region Estuaries Partnership and VHB, which play a critical role in funding and promoting environmental awareness.
Upcoming Exhibitions and Viewing Opportunities
The CAW plans to announce a gallery schedule shortly, providing opportunities for the public to view the winning images. This exhibition not only showcases artistic talent but also aims to foster discussions about coastal resilience and adaptation strategies in New Hampshire.
To explore the selected photographs in larger formats or to view the complete gallery of submissions, interested individuals can visit the CAW website at nhcaw.org. This platform will serve as a resource for those looking to engage with the ongoing conversation about climate impacts on coastal communities.
For further inquiries regarding the campaign or exhibition details, contact Hannah Volk at [email protected] or Lisa Wise at [email protected]. The CAW encourages continued participation and dialogue as the community works together to address the challenges posed by rising tides.
