Stacey Bendet Unveils AI-Driven Alice + Olivia Fall 2026 Collection
The Alice + Olivia Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection debuted in a striking presentation held at the Surrogate’s Court in Lower Manhattan. Designer Stacey Bendet embraced the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in fashion, drawing parallels between today’s technological advancements and the transformative nature of the Industrial Revolution. Bendet described the current moment as an “inspiration revolution” that inspired her latest collection, aptly named “The Gilded Age.”
Bendet emphasized that AI plays a pivotal role across all aspects of her business, from design to merchandising. In particular, she highlighted its application in creating photo-realistic interpretations of patterns for embroidery, stating, “We used AI to take things that we had sketched, rendered, worked on for prints, to then make into these photo-real versions that we could execute.” This innovative approach reflects a growing trend in the fashion industry that seeks to integrate technology with creativity.
The collection itself featured an abundance of embellishment, with an emphasis on indulgence, glamour, and maximalism. According to Bendet, almost every piece showcased intricate details, including rhinestones, beads, embroidery, and lace. The silhouettes were intentionally designed to evoke the opulence of the Gilded Era, yet there were modern twists that hinted at contemporary fashion trends.
While many elements were reminiscent of the Gilded Age, certain design features, such as high-low silhouettes and leopard print, seemed to draw inspiration from the 2010s. Bendet stated, “I wanted to bring back the whole concept of the ‘going-out top,’ whether it’s in crystal, corset, one-shoulder.” These tops were often styled with corset trousers and pinstripe pants, reflecting a blend of historical references with modern sensibilities.
Among the standout pieces was a black jacquard column dress that featured a detachable train, embodying a sophisticated nod to historical fashion. Another design, adorned with an enormous white bow at the back, echoed the bustle style characteristic of the Gilded Age. As the presentation unfolded, it became clear that Bendet’s collection was not just an homage to a bygone era but a commentary on the evolving nature of fashion in tandem with technology.
Bendet’s innovative use of AI and her creative vision illustrate a significant shift in how designers approach their craft. The fusion of traditional design elements with cutting-edge technology may redefine the fashion landscape, encouraging a new generation of designers to explore the possibilities that AI offers.
As fashion enthusiasts and industry insiders anticipate the upcoming season, the Alice + Olivia Fall 2026 collection is poised to make a significant impact, blending historical inspiration with modern innovation. This collection marks a bold step forward in an industry that is continuously evolving, reminding us that creativity can thrive alongside technological advancement.
