Remembering Judy Lee Leqve: A Life of Family and Service

Judith “Judy” Lee (Fitch) Leqve, aged 86, passed away on July 24, 2025, at her home in Pine Island, MN, surrounded by her loving family. Her life was marked by devotion to family, friends, and a career that spanned over three decades.
Born on July 15, 1939, in St. Paul, MN, Judy was the daughter of Frank and Ione (Musolf) Fitch. She completed her education at Rochester High School before embarking on a career as a server and bartender. For an impressive 34 years, Judy worked at the Holiday Inn South, where her dedication and warmth made a lasting impact on guests and colleagues alike.
Judy married her soulmate, Laverne Leqve, on July 14, 1956, in Rochester. The couple relocated to the Pine Island area in 1958 and enjoyed a remarkable 61.5 years of marriage until Laverne’s passing in 2018. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared interests, including gardening, hunting, and fishing.
Known for her deep affection for animals, Judy’s kindness extended to her pets, who were cherished members of her family. She took great joy in spending time with her children and granddaughter, creating memories that will be treasured by her loved ones.
Judy is survived by her children, Jim Leqve (Michele) of Rochester, MN, and Sue Albee of Waterford, WI; her granddaughter, Sara Albee of Waterford, WI; and her siblings, Deb House of Red Wing, MN, and Bob Fitch of Pine Island, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laverne; her parents, Frank and Ione; and her brothers, John and Tom Fitch.
A celebration of Judy’s life will take place on July 31, 2025, from 11:00 to 13:00 at the Ranfranz and Vine Reception Centre. The memorial service will begin at 12:00, with a time for sharing memories. A light lunch will be served throughout the reception.
