Players Find Sneaky Way to Achieve ‘Death From Above’ in Arc Raiders
A group of players in the popular game Arc Raiders has discovered a clever method to achieve one of the game’s most challenging milestones, known as “Death From Above.” This breakthrough allows players with acrophobia to bypass the daunting task of engaging a live Rocketeer for the achievement.
The “Death From Above” achievement is notoriously difficult, with only 2.6% of players successfully completing it. To earn this accolade, players must inflict at least 50 damage to an enemy, either an arc or raider, while perched atop a Rocketeer. Previously, the typical strategy involved using snap hooks or skillfully positioned ledges to launch onto the back of a live Rocketeer, a task fraught with danger and difficulty.
A New Strategy Emerges
Recently, player WoWAltoholic shared a game-changing tip: the achievement can also be completed by shooting arcs from a dead Rocketeer part. This revelation has sparked excitement among the community, as it simplifies the process significantly. “PSA: You can get the Death From Above achievement by shooting arcs from atop a dead Rocketeer part,” WoWAltoholic stated.
Surprisingly, only 1.5% of players have utilized this strategy to turn a Rocketeer into a mobile weapons platform. Many players, including those who have spent considerable time in Arc Raiders, were unaware of this tactic until recently. One player noted, “I’ve been playing Arc Raiders for over a week and just discovered you can ride the Arcs.”
The possibility to farm the game’s toughest robot for rewards has also been highlighted, as players can secure endgame gear and 50,000 XP with just a single blue grenade.
Challenges Remain
Despite this newfound technique, obtaining a dead Rocketeer is not without its challenges. Players must either luck out in finding one or defeat a live Rocketeer, both of which come with risks. Some have reported encounters with glitched Rocketeers that are easier to dispatch or jump upon. One player shared, “I got mine from standing on top of and pickaxing a tipped Rocketeer stuck on the ground lol.”
While this method may simplify the achievement, some players express concern that it undermines the whimsical nature of the challenge. As player EmotionalSet1743 remarked, “But then you don’t get to say ‘time to die SpiderMan’ into the mic.” This sentiment resonates with those who appreciate the thrill and chaos of engaging a live Rocketeer.
Players familiar with the Rocketeers know that approaching one typically triggers its alarming sound, followed by a barrage of rockets. Many have shared harrowing experiences of narrowly escaping the chaos. “My squad and I nearly got knocked out by one yesterday,” remarked a player, underscoring the dangers that accompany the pursuit of achievements in Arc Raiders.
As players continue to explore creative strategies for success, the community remains engaged and eager to share tips and tricks. With the Rocketeer trials ongoing, this achievement may become more accessible, allowing more players to join the ranks of those who have conquered the formidable “Death From Above.”
