Patrick Henry High Girls’ Flag Football Team Claims Historic Title

The girls’ flag football team from Patrick Henry High School made history on March 9, 2024, by securing their first championship title in a thrilling CIF Division IV game against Mount Carmel High School. The Lady Patriots triumphed with a score of 25-20 in a match held in Escondido, California, marking a significant milestone for the school and its athletes.

Sophomore defensive back Piper McGlenn expressed the significance of their achievement, stating, “We’re the first to do it this way, but not the last — that’s what making history means.” This sentiment encapsulates the team’s journey and the impact of their victory on future generations of female athletes at the school.

The success of the team was built on collaboration and determination. Junior quarterback Lexi Raymond played a pivotal role in the championship game, throwing three touchdown passes. Reflecting on the season, she remarked, “Each of us continued to push each other in early practices to late games, and it led us to winning the championship, together. I couldn’t have asked for a better team.”
