NewJeans Members Return to ADOR Following Legal Dispute
In a significant development for the K-pop industry, members of the popular girl group NewJeans have decided to return to their management company, ADOR. This decision comes after a lengthy legal battle and complex negotiations regarding their contracts. While members Hyein and Haerin had previously confirmed their return, uncertainty surrounded the status of Minji, Hanni, and Danielle until an updated statement was issued by ADOR.
On November 12, 2025, ADOR announced they were “confirming [the three members’] true intentions.” Following this verification process, the company released an updated statement on November 13, 2025, through iMBC Entertainment. The statement indicated that ADOR was “coordinating individual meeting schedules with the members” and would “do their best to ensure smooth discussions.”
The conflict began last November, when NewJeans held an emergency press conference. During this event, the group claimed that their exclusive contract with ADOR had been terminated due to a breach of contract. Subsequently, they pursued independent activities. ADOR countered these claims, asserting that the contract remained valid and filed a lawsuit to confirm its legitimacy.
As the legal proceedings unfolded, ADOR sought an injunction to prevent the members from pursuing independent activities during the litigation. After an intense legal battle, ADOR emerged victorious in court. This outcome left NewJeans with a choice: file an appeal or return to ADOR. Ultimately, all members decided to return just one day before the appeal deadline, effectively concluding the conflict, at least for now.
This resolution marks a pivotal moment for both the group and the management company, especially as the K-pop industry continues to evolve. The public response to these developments has been mixed, with some fans expressing disappointment and others welcoming the return of the members to ADOR.
While the immediate future appears settled, the complexities surrounding the legal dispute may continue to influence perceptions of both NewJeans and ADOR. The industry will be watching closely as the group navigates this new chapter in their career, and further updates are expected as discussions progress.
