Local Churches Plan Engaging Events for Community Connection
Local churches in Twin Falls, Idaho, are preparing to host a series of events aimed at fostering community connection and spiritual growth. The Episcopal Church of the Ascension will hold a service of Holy Eucharist at **9 a.m.** on Sunday, welcoming all attendees, including children. For those unable to attend in person, the service will also be streamed live on the church’s YouTube channel, titled “The Episcopal Church of the Ascension—Twin Falls.” The church is located at **371 Eastland Drive N.** and is fully accessible for individuals with disabilities.
The First Presbyterian Church of Twin Falls will offer adult Bible study sessions at **8:30 a.m.** followed by a worship service at **10 a.m.** on Sundays. Pastor **Mark Crothers** invites everyone to join at **209 Fifth Ave. N.** In a bid to support the community, the church will host “Sandwich Saturday,” providing free bag lunches at **11:30 a.m.** on Saturday, **August 2, 2023**, and continuing every other Saturday.
In addition, the First Presbyterian Church maintains a “Blessing Box” located outside its entrance, allowing community members to either take food or contribute items for those in need.
Exploring Cultural Connections in Idaho
In a significant effort to promote cultural understanding, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will feature local advocate **Winnie Christensen**, founder of the Culture for Change Foundation. This event will take place in person at **160 Ninth Ave. E.** at **10:30 a.m.** and will also be available via Zoom. During the session, Christensen will share her experiences and insights on bridging cultural divides and fostering empathy within communities.
