LEGOLAND California Resort announced the upcoming launch of its new indoor roller coaster, named Galacticoaster, set to open in early 2026. This marks the park’s first new coaster in more than 20 years, with construction currently underway inside a 30,000-square-foot building.

The Galacticoaster promises to provide an engaging space-themed experience. According to park officials, segments of the track are already being installed, and the ride will feature guests strapped into their own “customized spacecraft.” Riders will zip through cosmic scenes while enjoying a personalized journey through a Lego galaxy.

Flora Liu, senior project manager at Merlin Magic Making, the parent company of LEGOLAND, expressed enthusiasm about the new attraction. “Galacticoaster is going to launch LEGOLAND California into a whole new galaxy of fun,” she stated. Liu emphasized that this ride is part of the company’s largest investment in LEGOLAND history, totaling $90 million for both LEGOLAND California and LEGOLAND Florida.

Construction and Features of Galacticoaster

The Galacticoaster has been under construction for over a year, involving a dedicated team of 500 crew members. The ride will stretch 1,500 feet, offering a unique blend of nostalgic Lego elements and modern technology to create an immersive experience for guests.

Merlin’s commitment to innovation and guest experience is evident in the design, which draws inspiration from beloved Lego sets that families have enjoyed for decades. The combination of interactive features and advanced ride technology aims to deliver what the park describes as the most immersive and personalized coaster experience to date.

In addition to the excitement surrounding the Galacticoaster, LEGOLAND California will conclude its Red, White and BOOM! celebration on July 4 with a spectacular fireworks display over the park’s mini models, further enhancing the festive atmosphere at the resort.
