GMH Honors Long-Serving Employees at Special Recognition Ceremony

The Guam Memorial Hospital Authority (GMHA) acknowledged the dedication of its long-serving employees during a special service award ceremony held on Friday. The event celebrated staff members who have completed five or more years of service, marking milestones between January 2025 and August 2025.
Managers and staff gathered in the hospital’s classroom, creating an atmosphere filled with joy and appreciation. This gathering was not only a celebration of individual achievements but also a recognition of how the employees’ unwavering commitment has contributed to the hospital’s strength and resilience.
Recognition of Commitment and Service
Senator Sabrina Salas Matanane, who oversees the hospital, participated in the ceremony to present a legislative resolution acknowledging the honorees’ extensive years of service to GMHA and the people of Guam. Among those recognized was Agnes Crisostomo, the longest-serving employee, who has dedicated 45 years to the Materials Management Team. Her ongoing contributions reflect her deep commitment to the hospital’s mission.
Another notable awardee was Josie Zamora, a registered nurse and unit manager, who was celebrated for her 35 years of service and officially retired on the same day. Her dedication to patient care has made a lasting impact on the hospital community.
“These employees are more than just the backbone of GMHA,” said Theo Pangelinan, the hospital’s Equal Employment Opportunity officer. “They are our spirit.”
The Service Award program serves to highlight the invaluable contributions of GMHA employees. Their commitment ensures that the hospital fulfills its mission of providing compassionate, quality-driven health care to the community.
A Celebration of Team Spirit
Hospital Administrator Lillian Perez-Posadas expressed her gratitude, stating, “Today was a long overdue celebration for our employees. You can see it in their faces, that they are proud to serve alongside each other. Their commitment gives us the strength to move forward, day after day, for our patients and for our island.”
GMH extended its appreciation to all awardees and staff members for their essential roles in maintaining the morale, operations, and future of Guam’s only public hospital. The ceremony not only recognized individual accomplishments but also reinforced the collaborative spirit that defines GMHA.
