Demi Moore Celebrates Self-Acceptance at WWD Style Awards
The second annual WWD Style Awards took place on January 9, 2026, in Santa Monica, California, coinciding with the Golden Week leading up to the 83rd Golden Globes. At this prestigious event, Demi Moore was honored with the Fashion Icon Award, delivering a heartfelt speech that emphasized self-acceptance and the beauty of imperfection.
In her acceptance speech, Moore expressed her vision for 2026, stating, “My 2026 is to continue with the acceptance of ourselves as we are. We don’t need to be different. The most beautiful part of who we are is just being our unique selves, our imperfect selves.” This poignant message resonated with the audience, highlighting the importance of embracing individuality.
Moore also reflected on the intersection of fashion and cinema, sharing her journey from aspiring runway model to celebrated actress. “There’s this beautiful melding of fashion and cinema,” she noted. “I realized very early on… that they were never gonna let me walk the runway. I was way too short. And luckily, I found my way through cinema that I had the chance to wear these beautiful creations.”
Her stylist and friend, Brad Goreski, received a nod in her speech as she humorously remarked, “As Brad could tell you, if left to my own devices, I dress like a 12-year-old boy.” She emphasized that the red carpet offers a unique space for personal expression, saying, “It’s a place to express, to tell stories in a different way.”
The evening also celebrated other notable figures in fashion and entertainment. Kourtney Kardashian was recognized as the Wellness Entrepreneur of the Year, while Hailey Bieber received the Style Trailblazer Award. Attendees included the iconic Pamela Anderson, who, in an interview with “Good Morning America,” expressed her joy in reconnecting with friends and celebrating beauty at the event. Anderson made a striking appearance with her new platinum blonde hairstyle, having recently transitioned from her previous redhead look.
Cindy Crawford accepted the Red Carpet Watch of the Year Award on behalf of Omega, sharing her fondness for timeless fashion staples. “I still like vintage Levis or a great leather jacket or a great crisp white shirt, a little black dress,” she told “Good Morning America.” Her sentiments about classic fashion echoed the overall theme of the evening.
The event also recognized the contributions of behind-the-scenes talent, including hairstylist Adir Abergel and makeup artist Gucci Westman. Stylist Jason Bolden delivered a powerful message during his acceptance speech, acknowledging the importance of representation in the industry. “There’s not a lot of me in this room, let’s be clear,” he stated, urging attendees to be mindful of diversity and inclusivity within fashion. Bolden highlighted the support he has received from various influential figures, including Michael B. Jordan and Nicole Kidman, who have helped pave the way for emerging talents.
The WWD Style Awards not only recognized those in the spotlight but also celebrated the collaborative effort that brings iconic red carpet looks to life. Among the stars present were George Clooney, who accepted the Red Carpet Visionary Award on behalf of Giorgio Armani, and other notable attendees such as Cameron Diaz, Emily Blunt, Kristen Stewart, Mindy Kaling, and Paris Hilton.
As the event unfolded, it became clear that the WWD Style Awards serve not only as a celebration of fashion but also as a platform for meaningful conversations about self-acceptance, inclusivity, and the enduring power of individual expression.
