Coler Mountain Bike Preserve Celebrates Five Years of Adventure
Coler Mountain Bike Preserve is set to celebrate its fifth anniversary on October 17, 2023, marking a significant milestone for the popular outdoor destination in Northwest Arkansas. Established through the generous donation of a family homestead, the preserve has developed into a vital hub for outdoor recreation, featuring an extensive network of trails, camping facilities, and community engagement.
The anniversary event will take place at the Coler Homestead from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., inviting both local residents and long-time visitors to commemorate the preserve’s journey. Attendees will have the opportunity to share personal stories, meet the team behind the preserve, and learn about the transformative efforts that have shaped Coler into a leading outdoor attraction.
Trail Network and Community Impact
Spanning over 300 acres, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve offers more than 20 miles of trails that cater to riders of varying skill levels. The preserve connects seamlessly to over 250 miles of natural-surface trails throughout Northwest Arkansas, making it a vital component of the region’s outdoor recreation landscape. Additionally, Coler features a campground equipped with elevated tent platforms, heated showers, and a bike wash station, all conveniently located just minutes from downtown Bentonville.
Coler’s commitment to enhancing the community experience was recently recognized when it was awarded the Arkansas Tourism Attraction of the Year during the 51st Henry Awards. This accolade underscores the preserve’s growth and its positive impact on the surrounding community. The mission of the Peel Compton Foundation—to connect the community through nature, education, recreation, and preservation—resonates throughout Coler’s initiatives.
Celebrating Five Years of Adventure
The anniversary event promises a variety of engaging activities, including storytelling panels, community sharing stations, and trail explorations. These offerings will provide an interactive platform for participants to connect with one another and with the team that has contributed to the preserve’s success.
The celebration is more than just a birthday; it serves as a reminder of the communal spirit that has propelled Coler Mountain Bike Preserve forward. As the preserve looks to the future, it aims to continue fostering connections between people and nature, enhancing the outdoor experience for visitors of all ages.
With its growing popularity and commitment to community engagement, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve stands as a testament to the power of outdoor spaces in bringing people together. The anniversary event is an invitation to reflect on the past while embracing the possibilities that lie ahead.
