Robyn Brown Reflects on Depression During Turbulent Times in Flagstaff

Robyn Brown opened up about her struggles with depression during her time in Flagstaff, Arizona, as seen in the latest episode of *Sister Wives*. This revelation comes as Robyn and her husband, Kody Brown, prepare to leave behind their home, which has been a backdrop to significant familial upheaval.

In the episode that aired on October 12, 2023, Robyn, aged 47, described the sale of their Flagstaff residence as a crucial step toward a new beginning. “The new home for me is like a new beginning,” she stated, expressing hope for the future. Both Robyn and Kody, who is 56, recognized that parting with the house where their family experienced multiple separations was essential for their healing process.

Robyn’s admission highlights the emotional toll that living in the Flagstaff home had on her. She reflected on the pain she endured while the family dynamic shifted dramatically. “I was in a deep, deep depression in this house while the splits were happening,” Robyn recalled, referencing the departures of Kody’s other wives: Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown. Over the course of three years, all three women ended their spiritual marriages to Kody, leaving behind a complex emotional landscape.

Christine Brown, aged 53, announced her separation from Kody in November 2021 after more than 25 years together. Janelle, 56, confirmed her split in December 2022, nearly three decades into their relationship, while Meri, 54, released a joint statement with Kody in January 2023 confirming their separation after more than 30 years.

Kody reflected on the series of unfortunate events that occurred in their Flagstaff home. He mentioned, “This house had a series of sad events,” referencing significant losses including the death of his and Janelle’s son, Garrison, in March 2024. Kody described the house as a place filled with memories of heartbreak, stating, “This is where my heart broke right here.”

Christine, despite her own separation, reacted positively to the couple’s decision to move. She noted, “Kody probably has a lot of hard memories in that house. He had three wives leave him while he lived in that house.” She encouraged them to close that chapter and start anew, emphasizing the importance of moving forward.

Kody and Robyn share two biological children, Solomon, 13, and Ariella, 9. Additionally, Kody is the stepfather to Robyn’s three eldest children from her previous marriage: Dayton, 25, Aurora, 23, and Breanna, 21. In April 2024, they listed their five-bedroom, four-bathroom Flagstaff home for $1.65 million, and according to the episode, the property sold swiftly.

Robyn expressed relief about the transition, stating, “We’ll be leaving a lot of pain and hard memories behind.” She believes that their new home will be conducive to fulfilling their aspirations for the future.

The family’s journey continues with their sale of the Coyote Pass property in Arizona for $1.5 million. This 14-acre land, acquired by the Browns in 2018, became a source of tension following Kody’s separations. Importantly, Christine did not receive any proceeds from this sale, having transferred her shares to Kody and Robyn upon her departure in 2021. However, she retained the funds from her Arizona home sale before relocating to Utah and marrying David Woolley in October 2023.

As Kody and Robyn look forward to their new life, they remain focused on rebuilding their family unit in a healthier environment, leaving behind the weight of past disappointments.
