Minnesota-based Raw Bistro Pet Fare has announced a recall of specific lots of its frozen beef dog food products due to potential salmonella contamination. This announcement was published by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on October 10, 2023. The recall affects three-pound bags and 18-pound cases of “Raw Bistro Dog Fare Grass-Fed Beef Entree,” identified by lot number 239 and a “Best By” date of August 27, 2026.

The affected products were distributed to consumers and retailers in four states: California, Colorado, Illinois, and Minnesota, during the period from September 1 to September 17, 2023. The company initiated the recall as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of pets and their owners.

Salmonella infection in pets can lead to serious health issues. Symptoms may include lethargy, diarrhea (which may be bloody), fever, and vomiting.
