Kaiser Permanente Hosts Free Health Fair to Address Latino Health Needs

Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center is set to host a free health fair on September 27, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon. The event, located on the hospital campus at 1011 Baldwin Park Blvd., is open to both Kaiser Permanente members and non-members. It aims to address health conditions that disproportionately impact the Latino community while also offering valuable resources to the general public.

Participants can access a range of complimentary services, including diabetes screening and education, colorectal cancer screening, blood pressure checks, and flu shots. Additionally, both members and non-members will benefit from various health education sessions and community resources at no cost. Among the highlights of the fair is a Diabetes & Cooking Class scheduled for 11 a.m., where a bilingual health educator will demonstrate how to prepare nutritious Mexican dishes.

The health fair will take place in Medical Office Building 2, on the first floor of the hospital. Kaiser Permanente and various community exhibitors will be present to answer questions and provide resources. Exhibitors from Kaiser Permanente include the Center for Healthy Living, Peritoneal Dialysis, Life Care Planning, and Sales and Account Management. Community partners like Project Angel Foods, L.A. Metro, Foothill Transit, Baldwin Park City Parks & Recreation, Looms for Lupus, and L.A. County Promotoras will also participate.
