Wilkes-Barre Area High School Celebrates First Quarter Honor Roll

Wilkes-Barre Area High School has announced the names of students who achieved honors for the first quarter of the 2025-26 academic year. The recognition highlights outstanding academic performance across all grade levels, with students categorized by their grade-point averages.

The honor roll is divided into three categories: students who achieved highest honors have averages of 95 and above; those with high honors have averages ranging from 90 to 94.99; and students named to the honors list have averages between 85 and 89.99. The announcement was made by the school’s principals, including Colleen Robatin for 12th grade, Christopher Anthony for 11th grade, Robert Watkins for 10th grade, Erik O’Day for 9th grade, and Michael Grebeck, the principal. Additionally, Patrick Peters oversees the cyber academy, while Hal Gabriel manages special programs.

Recognizing Academic Excellence

Students who achieved the highest honors in the 12th grade include notable names such as Jacob A. Ajayi, Avani L. Aviles Torres, and Jhamilec A. Cabrera Lopez, among many others. This year, the 12th-grade highest honors list features a total of 115 students, showcasing a remarkable level of academic success.

In the 11th grade, students such as Dinanllely Abreu and Michael S. Bonilla Escobar were recognized for their academic achievements. The 11th-grade highest honors list includes 76 students, all of whom have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their studies.

The 10th-grade honors list comprises students like Michael C. Abbey and Sophie A. Brooks, with a total of 69 students earning highest honors. Similarly, the 9th-grade highest honors list includes Lizbeth Alvarado and Logan J. Ankner, with 61 students being recognized.

High Honors and Honors Lists

Students who achieved high honors in the 12th grade include Brian J. Acevedo and Nevaeh M. Brown, among others. A total of 89 students received high honors, reflecting their dedication and hard work.

The 11th-grade high honors list features students like Irianny Abreu Duran and Emily Amigon, with a total of 67 students recognized. In 10th grade, high honors were awarded to Brandon Aguilar and Gabriella S. Casterline, totaling 58 students.

For the 9th grade, students such as Yasir M. Abdullah and Gabriel O. Dates made the high honors list, which includes 54 students in total.
