Victoria ISD Unveils Second Collaborative Video with Local Colleges

The Victoria Independent School District (ISD) has launched a second collaborative video alongside Victoria College and Texas A&M University-Victoria, emphasizing their joint commitment to education, opportunity, and community under the banner, Excellence Lives Here. This initiative builds upon the success of their previous welcome video and highlights the educational journey available in the Victoria area, from kindergarten through higher education.

Conceptualized, filmed, and produced by the Victoria ISD Communications Department, the new video features key figures including Victoria ISD Superintendent Sheila Collazo, Victoria College President Dr. Jennifer Kent, and A&M University-Victoria President Dr. Christian Hardigree. Each leader underscores the importance of robust schools in fostering a thriving community and ensuring a prosperous future for local students.

The central theme of the video focuses on retaining talent, opportunity, and excellence within Victoria. It illustrates how local educational pathways equip students to learn, grow, and succeed without having to leave their community.

“This project reflects why collaboration matters,”

stated Ashley Alvarez, Executive Director of Communications for Victoria ISD. She highlighted that when educational institutions unite, it sends a powerful message to students, families, and the broader community: opportunities are available locally.

The release of Excellence Lives Here comes after the Victoria ISD Communications Department received a Gold MarCom Award in the Web-Based Video Marketing category for their first collaborative video. This accolade recognized the department’s creative efforts and the historic partnership between Victoria ISD, Victoria College, and A&M University-Victoria.

“This second video continues the story we began telling with our first collaboration,” Alvarez added. “It reinforces that education in Victoria is connected, intentional, and focused on excellence at every level.” The video showcases scenes from various school campuses, higher education institutions, and recognizable community landmarks, effectively illustrating the seamless pathway available to students in Victoria from early education through college and into the workforce.
