Victoria ISD Unveils New Collaborative Video with Local Colleges

The Victoria Independent School District (VISD) has released a new collaborative video featuring Victoria College and Texas A&M University-Victoria. This initiative emphasizes their shared commitment to education and community under the banner of Excellence Lives Here. The video, developed by the VISD Communications Department, builds on the success of an earlier welcome video and showcases the strength of local education from kindergarten through higher education.

This latest production features prominent figures including VISD Superintendent Sheila Collazo, Victoria College President Dr. Jennifer Kent, and A&M University–Victoria President Dr. Christian Hardigree. Each leader discusses the vital role that robust educational institutions play in fostering a strong community and future. The central message highlights how local educational pathways cultivate talent and opportunities, allowing students to thrive in Victoria.

Ashley Alvarez, Executive Director of Communications for VISD, commented on the significance of this collaboration. “This project reflects why collaboration matters,” she stated. “When educational institutions work together, we send a clear message to students, families, and the greater community that opportunity does not require leaving Victoria. These partnerships strengthen trust, align our messaging, and show the community that we are collectively invested in student success from start to finish.”

Continuing a Successful Partnership

The release of Excellence Lives Here follows the global recognition of VISD’s first collaborative video, which earned the Communications Department a Gold MarCom Award in the Web-Based Video Marketing category. This accolade recognized the department’s in-house creative efforts and the historic partnership among VISD, Victoria College, and Texas A&M University-Victoria.

“This second video continues the story we began telling with our first collaboration,” Alvarez added. “It reinforces that education in Victoria is connected, intentional, and focused on excellence at every level.”

The video features scenes from various educational campuses, higher education institutions, and community landmarks, illustrating the seamless pathway available to Victoria students from K through college and into the workforce. By showcasing the collaboration among these local educational entities, the video not only reinforces the message of opportunity but also highlights the community’s collective investment in nurturing future leaders right at home.
