UWM Launches Children’s Clothing Drive to Support Graduate Families

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is hosting a children’s clothing drive to support graduate student families, organized by the Student Parent Success Program, the Center for International Education, and the UWM Graduate School. This initiative aims to collect gently used clothing for children, helping students who may be facing financial constraints.
Donations can be dropped off at the Graduate School located in Mitchell Hall, Room 261, until October 24, 2023. Participants are encouraged to contribute items that their children have outgrown, ensuring that these clothes find a new home with families in need.
This clothing drive represents a community effort to ease the burden on UWM graduate student families, particularly those balancing academic commitments and parental responsibilities. The collaboration between the three organizations highlights a commitment to supporting diverse student needs at the university.
By contributing to this drive, donors play an essential role in fostering a supportive environment for graduate students, allowing them to focus on their studies while providing for their families. The initiative not only addresses immediate clothing needs but also reinforces a sense of community within the UWM family.
As the deadline approaches, organizers hope to inspire a generous response from the UWM community, emphasizing that every donation, no matter how small, contributes to the overall success of student families on campus. The drive is a reminder of the importance of solidarity and support among students, particularly during challenging times.
For those interested in participating, the Graduate School is open for donations during regular hours. Your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of fellow students and their children, helping to ensure that they have the resources they need to thrive both academically and personally.
