Teachers Empowered at Kimbell’s Fashion Forward Workshops
Teachers are invited to participate in a unique opportunity at the Kimbell Art Museum with the upcoming “Fashion Forward” workshops. Scheduled for October 15, 2023, these sessions aim to enhance educators’ knowledge and skills through comprehensive training focused on both the permanent collection and the museum’s special exhibitions.
The workshops are divided into a morning session from 10 AM to noon and an afternoon session from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Teachers can choose to attend either or both sessions, making this a flexible option for busy professionals. Each session will feature engaging presentations by museum staff, followed by gallery discussions that offer insights into the artworks and themed topics.
Participants will also take part in a related studio activity in the afternoon, allowing them to apply what they have learned in a practical setting. This hands-on approach not only enriches the educational experience but also fosters creativity and collaboration among attendees.
These workshops are provided at no cost, including complimentary instructional materials and continuing professional education (CPE) credits for teachers. This initiative underscores the museum’s commitment to supporting educators in enhancing their teaching practices and engaging students through art.
Accessibility is a priority for the Kimbell Art Museum. Educators requiring accommodations for the workshops are encouraged to contact the museum in advance via email to ensure they receive the necessary support.
By participating in the “Fashion Forward” workshops, teachers can expand their understanding of art and its relevance in the classroom, ultimately benefiting their students. This event not only showcases the museum’s dedication to education but also highlights the importance of integrating art into teaching methodologies.
