Princeton University Welcomes Two New Assistant Professors

Ethan Russo commenced his role in the philosophy department on January 16, 2024, while Kyle Mitchell Pietrzyk is set to join the faculty in September 2026.

Dr. Russo specializes in metaphysics, logic, and ancient Greek philosophy. He earned his Ph.D. from New York University and holds both a B.A. and B.S.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. His expertise is expected to contribute significantly to the department, fostering a deeper exploration of philosophical traditions and contemporary thought.

In the field of civil and environmental engineering, Dr. Pietrzyk brings a wealth of knowledge in the multiscale modeling of porous media systems, mesoscale materials simulation, and nonlinear control design for energy systems. He completed his Ph.D. at Stanford University and holds both an M.S. and B.S. from Santa Clara University. His research is anticipated to advance the university’s initiatives in sustainable engineering practices.
