Penn State Schuylkill Announces Spring Commencement Ceremonies
Penn State Schuylkill is set to host two commencement ceremonies this spring to better accommodate its expanding class of graduates and their supporters. The first ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. on May 8, 2024, specifically for graduates from the nursing and radiological sciences programs. A second ceremony for all other majors is scheduled for 10 a.m. on May 9, 2024, both events will be held in the campus gymnasium located in Schuylkill Haven.
Celebrating Growth and Inclusion
Chancellor Cory Scherer emphasized that the decision to organize two separate ceremonies stems from the significant growth of the graduating classes at Penn State Schuylkill. This approach aims to ensure that students can invite as many family members and friends as they wish to celebrate this important milestone.
“Commencement is a milestone moment, and we want it to be a meaningful and inclusive celebration for everyone involved,”
said Scherer. He highlighted the campus’s commitment to creating a celebratory environment that fosters inclusivity and support for graduates as they transition to the next phase of their lives.
Both ceremonies will be accessible via livestream for individuals unable to attend in person. Links to the livestreams will be posted on Penn State Schuylkill’s social media channels as the dates approach. The university will also provide additional details and updates through various campus communication channels in the coming weeks.
