SALISBURY — Jaxson Rodriguez, a 7-year-old second grader at Isenberg Elementary School, has been honored as the November 2025 Junior Student of the Month by the Salisbury Elks Lodge 699. His selection recognizes his exemplary behavior and contributions in the classroom, as highlighted by his teacher, Mrs. Ginger Jenkins.

Rodriguez was chosen for this prestigious title due to his “respectful nature in class” and for consistently assisting his classmates and teacher in ways that went “above and beyond.” This acknowledgement serves to spotlight the positive actions of young students and to encourage a community focus on their achievements.

Celebrating Student Achievement

During a special presentation, Tony Alfano, a member of the Salisbury Elks Lodge, awarded Rodriguez with a certificate of achievement. The Elks Junior Student of the Month Program aims to bring public attention to deserving youth, countering the tendency to focus on negative behaviors. Alfano emphasized the importance of recognizing children’s accomplishments, stating, “The underlying purpose of the program is to seek out youth whose accomplishments deserve public recognition.”

According to Alfano, being part of this initiative is a significant honor, as it plays a vital role in fostering strong and confident individuals. The Elks organization is committed to supporting youth through various programs, including scholarships, drug awareness initiatives, a youth essay contest, and the Hoop Shoot Contest.

Getting Involved

For those interested in learning more about the Junior Student of the Month Program, local principal or guidance counselor contacts are encouraged. Additionally, inquiries can be directed to Alfano via email at [email protected].

This recognition not only celebrates Rodriguez’s achievements but also serves as a reminder of the positive impact that young individuals can have within their communities. The Elks Lodge continues to champion initiatives that highlight the strengths and contributions of youth, promoting a culture of encouragement and appreciation.
