Fitchburg State University is set to host its biennial art exhibition this spring, highlighting the creative talents of faculty and staff from the Communications Media and Humanities Departments. The exhibition will be displayed at the Hammond Art Gallery, located in Hammond Hall at 160 Pearl Street, and will run until March 6, 2024. An opening reception will take place on January 27, 2024, at 15:30, and the event is free and open to the public.

The exhibition serves as a platform for the campus community to engage with the artistic endeavors of its educators. According to Jeff Warmouth, a professor in the Communications Media Department and department chair, this event is an excellent opportunity for students to appreciate the range of creative expressions from their professors. “I love seeing the range of work from my colleagues, and I always look forward to the show,” Warmouth noted. “Most students only know us in the classroom, but every two years they can see the wide variety of ideas and approaches to aesthetics, materials, and techniques.”

This year’s exhibition will feature works from several prominent faculty members, including Warmouth, Britt Snyder, Andrea Olmstead, Deborah Santoro, Donald Tarallo, J Flynn, and Jessica Robey. Each artist brings a unique perspective, contributing to a rich tapestry of creativity that reflects the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the faculty.

The Hammond Art Gallery, known for its commitment to showcasing innovative art, will provide an ideal setting for this display. Visitors can expect to see a variety of artistic styles and mediums, offering insights into the personal and professional lives of the artists.

As the opening reception approaches, anticipation within the university community is building. This exhibition not only highlights the talents of faculty members but also fosters a deeper connection between educators and students. The event invites everyone to explore the creative landscape of Fitchburg State University and appreciate the artistic contributions of its faculty.
