Dr. Callie Fogle Joins Clemson’s Veterinary Medicine Faculty

Dr. Callie Fogle has joined the faculty at the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine at Clemson University as one of its inaugural members. An experienced equine surgeon, Fogle brings a wealth of knowledge from her previous role at North Carolina State University, where she contributed to the advancement of veterinary medicine.
Passion for Equine Care and Community Engagement
Fogle is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care for horses while fostering a collaborative educational environment. Her research focuses on gastrointestinal and soft tissue diseases in equines, aiming to advance veterinary practices in this specialized field. She expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to work under Steven Marks, the founding dean, and emphasized the importance of the supportive community he aims to build.
“When my husband and I heard about the college and supportive community that [Dean Marks] intended to build at the PCVM, we knew it was the right move for us,” said Fogle.
Fogle is eager to engage with the local community, stating, “I can’t wait to be a part of a veterinary clinical environment that is both learner-centered and simultaneously provides necessary animal health care to the communities in Clemson and throughout South Carolina.” She hopes to become an ambassador for the college, sharing its impact on education across the state.
Personal Interests and Background
Outside her professional commitments, Dr. Fogle enjoys competitive games with her family and supports her teenagers at various music and athletic events. Growing up on a farm in Louisiana, she has a deep appreciation for farm life, including a love for animals and spicy food. Fogle also shares a passion for horseback riding with her daughter, while making time for running and reading.
With her extensive background and community-focused approach, Dr. Fogle is set to make significant contributions to both the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine and the broader Clemson community. Her commitment to advancing equine veterinary care and education marks a promising new chapter for the institution.
